WEEKEND RECAP #35

Good morning, friends!  Did everyone have a nice holiday weekend?  Mine was really great, but I have to admit, it was really difficult to wake up this morning.  I was sleepy!

photo 5My weekend started on Wednesday at noon (my office closed early), which was SO nice!  I ran errands that day, and started prepping for Thanksgiving.

photo 4

photo 1Thanksgiving was amazing!  We hosted, but it was a total group effort food wise.  Everything was delicious!  Here is a photo of our group on Thanksgiving.  My Mom and Dad accidentally got cut out of the group photo, but there is a cute one of them to make up for it.  🙂

photo 2

photo 1Friday we went to Ventura, and completely relaxed at my parents house all day.  It was just what we all needed!  Saturday morning I met some girlfriends for coffee and a beach walk.  It was a gorgeous day, but the conversation was even better.  Isn’t quality time with friends the best?!

We had a memorial service to attend on Saturday afternoon, and while it was very sad to lose a loved one, the service was beautiful.  I was so happy to have been there.

photo 3After the service I had an appointment to get my hair done.  I cut 8 inches off!!!  This is a huge deal for me, as I’ve had long hair for years.  I loved my long hair, but I am totally digging the short, simple cut.  So bouncy and fun!

photo 2 Sunday was church, then afterwards we all went downtown to do some small business shopping.  So fun!  After that, we headed back to Pasadena to unpack, and unwind.  As you can see, Charlie was quite chilly when we got home!  HA!

All in all, it was a FABULOUS holiday weekend!  I hope you all had a great one, and know how very grateful I am for each and every one of you!

KEEP CALM AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Good morning, friends!  Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and while I it can bring up a lot of feelings of gratitude, I know (from experience) that it can bring up a lot of stress, too.  Particularly around all of the decadent food!  Today I am here today to share some helpful tips on how to have a calm, joyous, and happy Thanksgiving.

keep-calm-and-happy-thanksgiving--29

START WITH A GRATEFUL HEART

Gratitude is what Thanksgiving is all about, right?  When you wake up in the morning, before you do anything else, try placing your hand on your heart and simply close your eyes and breathe.  Imagine what your are thankful for.  If you can’t think of anything in particular, that’s totally okay.  Just  acknowledging your heartbeat and breath is glorious enough!  This is a great way to start any day, and can definitely set the tone for the holiday.

HYDRATE

Before your coffee or festive mimosa, drinks lots of water.  Think of it as a bath for your insides.  Start nice and clean for the day, and continue to drink water throughout.

MOVE YOUR BODY

I’m so excited to start Thanksgiving day with a morning walk!  Just like any other day, moving your body (whichever way feels comfortable to you) is great!  This can look like dancing in the kitchen while you’re cooking, doing some gentle yoga, going for a run, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or even a leisurely stroll with your pup.

Side note: This is NOT to make up for food you will be consuming later.  In fact if you don’t feel like exercising, and you’d rather do something else, do that.  Honor your body however it feels comfortable to YOU.  This is simply an extra way to show your body that you are grateful for her.  🙂

DON’T DEPRIVE YOURSELF

Do you want mashed potatoes and gravy or your Grandma’s famous dessert?  Have some!  Place a portion on you plate, eat slowly, savor it, and know that you can always have more if you’re still hungry.  Plus, HELLO LEFTOVERS!  Yum!

ENJOY

The holidays are about being with those your love and care about.  Enjoy the laughter of children, and the silly banter between adult siblings.  Cherish the stories your grandfather has told you 9,284,832 times because someday you may miss hearing them, and tell your family you love them, because that’s what matters most.  And sometimes, being with those you want to spend time with isn’t always possible.  So, for those of you that have to work or live far away, know that you are missed, and are in the hearts of many!

I hope these tips are helpful, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

With so much love and gratitude, Happy Thanksgiving!

xo.  Jen

P.S. I will be taking Friday off from posting to spend time with family.  See you Monday!

WEEKEND RECAP #33

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Did you celebrate Halloween?  My weekend was very full, but really fun, too.  I have LOTS of photos, so I’m jumping right into it!

photo 1

photo 1After work on Friday we jumped in the car and headed to Ventura!  My Dad’s birthday was earlier in the week, so we went out for sushi that evening to celebrate.  My rainbow roll was delicious!

photo 3Saturday morning, Greg, Charlie, and I went down to the beach.  It was a STUNNING day! The water was super glassy, and the sun was shining beautifully!  Greg decided to take a bunch of photos, and I am SO glad that he did!  He got some really great shots!  After our walk, we went and had a breakfast burrito on the pier (which ended up holding me over for the majority of the day).

photo 3Saturday afternoon I met up with some friends.  Starla and I have been best friends for 18 years (CRAZY how time flies), and I have know her cousin Jo for just as long, and we’re all great friends!

photo 5

photo 1Saturday evening we went to a Halloween party.  Greg was a priest, I was a nun, and Charlie was a dinosaur.  My mom was the cutest kitten ever, and my dad was a USC coach.  🙂

photo 2Sunday was church, lunch at Spencer Makenzie’s (I got the ahi burger, and shared my fries with everyone), visiting with more friends, then heading home.  We spent the rest of the evening snuggling on the couch, and going to bed early (time change got me all mixed up, haha).

All in all, another fantastic weekend!  Tell me about yours!

WEEKEND RECAP #32

Good morning!  How was your weekend?  Mine was great!  I’ll tell you all about it, but first I want to share the purpose behind why I do a “Weekend Recap.”  The main reason is because I love the idea of sitting back and giving gratitude for the special times that I have, and get to share with others.  Whether it is a specific event, or just a yummy meal, it’s all special to me. The second reason is that I don’t share too much of my personal day-to-day life during the week, so it’s fun to do a recap of what went on over the weekend.

Okay, on to the weekend!

photo 1Friday evening was spent at home, turning the living room into a movie theater.  🙂  We have an extra futon mattress that we brought out with a bunch of fluffy pillows and blankets, put on our pj’s, and totally vegged.  It was so awesome to just relax!  I made stove-top popcorn (so simple) for us later, and we watched The Newsroom (our current fave).photo 3

photo 4

photo 2Saturday morning we all took a nice walk to Peet’s for coffee, and ended up getting a bagel next door.  So weird, because normally I am not a bagel person (too much grain), but this is now the second time a bagel sounded perfect.  And it was!  I got a plain bagel with lox and all the fixings. So delicious!

photo 5For lunch we had the best salads!  So yummy!

photo 1

photo 2Saturday night we went to the Foo Fighters concert with friends.  They were given tickets (AMAZING seats) and asked us to go.  The show was absolutely incredible!  Definitely the best concert I have ever been to (and I’ve been to my good share).  We jammed, danced, and had the best time.  I feel really grateful!

photoSunday morning was spent doing a few things around the house and making a TJ’s run.  My bestie Emma came to visit in the afternoon, and we had such a nice time chatting, sipping champagne, and having tostadas (her fave of all my dinner recipes, HA!).  Too funny, because we had matching manicures unbeknownst to us!  🙂

All in all, another fabulous weekend!  May you all have a lovely week!

INTUITIVE EATING 101

food-salad-restaurant-person-mediumHi friends!  Today I am here to talk about intuitive eating.  We, as humans, are intuitive by nature, and I feel that absolutely extends to our eating.  However, we (myself included) don’t always follow our intuition.  Intuitive eating is the idea that when we listen to and trust our bodies, we are naturally led to a way of eating that is best for us based on an individual level.

Who likes being on a restrictive diet?  I see zero hands raised.  Intuitive eating is the opposite of dieting. Dieting leads us to believe that there are “good” foods and “bad” foods, and when we don’t follow our diet strictly, we often feel guilty, and end up eating emotionally anyway.  No fun. P.S. I only know this because in the past, I HAVE BEEN THERE, way tooooo many times!

food-salad-dinner-eating-largeLet’s take a deeper look at intuitive eating, and how we can all connect with our inner intuition on a deeper level.

  • Listen for your hunger.  Often times people eat because of one or more of the following reasons: the clock says it is 6:00pm and that is “dinner time,” our friends are eating so we should join them, out of habit, etc.
  • Finish eating when you feel satisfied.  On a scale of 1 (starving, belly completely empty) – 10 (full, stuffed to the max), I feel best when I begin eating at a 3, and stop at a 7/8.  If we eat when we’re famished, we tend to eat everything in sight, and very quickly and mindlessly.  When we eat when we’re not hungry, more often than not, this is emotional and on a deeper level.  Something I always tell myself is “if you’re still hungry in 30 minutes, eat again.”  This always helps, and 99% of the time, I am not hungry later on.
  • Eat things that taste delicious, and make you feel nourished.  Food is not only a source of energy, but it is meant to be pleasurable!  I’m not saying every meal for the remainder of your life has to be a 5 star gourmet experience, but what I am saying is that it should taste good!  Studies have shown that when we truly enjoy our food, whether it is a bowl of Brussel sprouts or a slice of chocolate cake, it nourishes us on a greater cellular level.
  • Pay attention to how your body reacts.  Notice how your body feels after you eat.  Do you feel light with more energy, or sluggish and like you want to take a nap?  Do you feel saisfied, or like you need to eat 20 minutes later?  Any physical reactions (intestinal, headaches, etc.) may be a sign or an sensitivity or allergy.
  • Trust yourself.  We are all unique individuals, and we all require different types of food to fuel our bodies.  What works for one person, may not work for the next (hence why diets don’t work).  Trust that your body knows what to do, and recognize when she will always provide you with the right nutrition.

photo 5 (2)Look at the photo above (taken on a trip to NYC with two of my favorite gal pals and fellow health coaches, Paige & Simi).  This is me.  All of me.  I’m not a size 2, nor do I have rock hard abs.  I have curves, soft skin, and strong legs.  I eat intuitively, I am STILL on my own personal journey and have days where I “feel all the feelings,” but most importantly…I am happy and healthy.

I hope this post was helpful!  If you are interested in learning more about intuitive eating, health coaching, or just want to explore, I’d love to provide you with a consultation.  Can’t wait to chat!

WEEKEND RECAP #31

Happy Monday!  How was your weekend?  Mine was awesome, and family-filled!  We went to Ventura to hang with family and celebrate my brother’s birthday.  So much fun!  LOTS of photos below…

photo 2

photo 1

photo 3On Friday I took a half-day at work, and Charlie and headed up to Ventura (Greg came later after work).  Once there, a bunch of us headed to Brophy Brothers for a late lunch in the harbor.  It was hot all weekend, but absolutely beautiful nonetheless!  I ordered an ahi poke salad and a super spicy Bloody Mary.  Both were delicious!

Friday evening family and friends gathered in the backyard for dinner, drinks, and Cards Against Humanity.  So much fun!

photo 4Saturday (my brother Spencer’s actual birthday) morning we made cinnamon rolls and breakfast burritos at home.  SO good!

photo 5The birthday boy!

photo 1After breakfast, my brothers, Aunt Kathy and I headed to The Collection.  The boys went to REI, and Kathy and I went to Charming Charlie.  That place has so many great accessories!  I treated myself and bought a dress, necklace, and earrings.  Super cute!

photo 2Later that day, we all (both brothers, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Auntie, Greg, and myself) jumped in our cars, and headed to Carpenteria.  Our friend other brother Curtis works at this awesome deli, and he personally made us the BEST sandwiches.  Seriously, I got the veggie sandwich, and it was amazing!

photo 3Greg, my brothers, and I stopped at the beach for sun and swimming on the way home.  The beach is my happy place!  🙂

photo 4Saturday night we celebrated again!  We had tostadas for dinner, and for dessert Spencer’s girlfriend made him the cutest the cake!  So sweet!

photo 2

photo 4

photo 3Sunday morning we relaxed, and had more family time.  Greg and I went downtown, then met Em for lunch.  Em and I shared a seafood salad and gnocchi, and I had a jalapeño-cucumber mojito.  YUM, and so refreshing on a hot day!

It was the perfect weekend!  I feel loved, filled, and super grateful.  Primary food to the max!!  Hope you all have a lovely week!

HAVE YOUR CAKE, AND EAT IT TOO!

Good morning, friends!  I hope this day is treating you well!  First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you.  I woke up this morning with a super emotional, sappy, and sensitive Pisces heart, feeling so very grateful for my life, and that includes all of you!  Thank you, thank you, thank you! Big hugs to each of you!

food-sweet-cake-glace-icing-largeOkay, love fest aside, I want to talk about how you (yes, YOU) can “Have your cake, and eat it too!”  How does that sound?  Let’s jump in!

The other day I had this really strong sensation to bake a homemade cake, and eat it.  Now, to most that may seem normal, but to me it was a bit odd.  Not because baking or eating cake is odd, but mainly because I don’t really like cake.  It’s just kinda blah to me.  I’m much more of a brownie type of gal.  Anyway, cake was still on my mind in the evening, so I headed to the kitchen to get my bake on!  I went through my cookbooks and found a recipe for a dark, rich, chocolate cake.  This sounded perfect to me!  Yum!  I measured, scooped, mixed, blended, poured and completely enjoyed baking this cake made with REAL ingredients.  Organic butter, natural sugar, fresh eggs made by happy chickens (I know this for a fact, ha!), and other super high quality ingredients.  It made enough for three 8″ round pans, so I was super excited to pop them in the oven, and turn them into a beautiful layered cake.

While the cake was baking, I was on to making the frosting.  Again, super weird for me, because not only do I not care for cake that much, but I realllllyyyy don’t care for frosting.  It’s just too sweet for me.  BUT, I trusted my intuition, and went with it.  I wanted a less-sweet version than normal frosting, so I made one up.  Greg sifted some powdered sugar for me (he was so dang cute doing it too), and I blended a little butter, unsweetened chocolate, and ricotta (my special ingredient) together.  This turned out to be absolutely perfect!

When the cake was done, I let it cool, then started constructing it.  Layer of cake, layer of frosting, layer of cake, layer of frosting, layer of cake, final layer of frosting.  I decided I didn’t want a ton of frosting, so I didn’t do the sides.  It was a very beautiful, artsy cake that I was so enthralled with I forgot to take a photo.  🙂

hands-summer-party-colorful-largeThis is how the rest went:

  • I sliced myself (and Greg of course) an average sized slice of cake on a pretty plate (because a pretty piece of cake deserves a pretty plate, right?)
  • I sat down, uninterrupted.  No phone, no TV, no distractions.
  • I briefly checked in with myself.  Do I still want this piece of cake? Yes.  How hungry am I on a scale of 1 to 10? 6 (this is something we can dive deeper into in another post).
  • I took my first bite, and proceeded to chew.  I tasted the flavors: the richness of the chocolate, the fluffyness of the cake, the smooth texture of the frosting.  It was delicious.
  • On to the most important step (for me anyway): I ate about 3/4 of my piece, and then…I was done.  I listened to my body and she told me, “You’re done.  That’s all you need for now.”

I had one of those moments of clarity and utter joy afterwards that went like this:

This is NOT something that would have happened before I discovered intuitive eating. Previously, I probably wouldn’t have even made a cake.  I wouldn’t have truly listened to my body and what she really wanted.  If I did make the cake, I would have done so hastily with whatever ingredients I could reach for the fastest.  I wouldn’t have waited for the cake to cool, and probably would have burnt my fingers taking the cake out of the pan.  I then would have quickly tossed a huge piece of cake on the closest plate, and plopped myself on the couch in front of whatever was on television.  I would have mindlessly eaten that piece of cake, then probably binged on at least one to two slices more.  THEN, I would have felt so guilty, embarrassed, and disgusted with myself that I’d probably then throw the remainder of the cake away so it wouldn’t happen again.  If this sounds even remotely familiar to you, please know that you are not alone, and that intuitive eating and listening to your body is completely possible.

I now know that I can totally listen to my body, and give her what she wants.  I know that I can stop eating when I am full, BECAUSE I can have whatever I want, whenever I want.  There is plenty of cake (insert whatever other food you really enjoy) out there!

And that my friends, is how you can “Have your cake, and eat it too!”

photoMy slice of cake. 🙂

If this is something you can relate to, I have two more spots open for private health coaching in September.  This is where I have one-on-one sessions (with clients all over the world), and true transformation occurs.  Contact me, and we can set up a complimentary consultation.

WEEKEND RECAP #28

Good morning! How was your weekend?  Relaxing?  Full of excitement?  Maybe something else?  Mine was a mix of fun, and leisure time.  I ate lots of yummy food, walked around our town, relaxed at the house, and enjoyed spending quality time (primary food) with loves ones. Love that!

Friday evening we stayed in and relaxed.  We both had a busy week, so it was nice to just lounge around with no agenda.  I caught up on some reading, too!

photo 1Saturday morning we had the yummiest breakfast.  I made my version of an “Egg McMuffin” with a side of strawberries.  Sourdough English muffin, Swiss cheese, OM egg, faux sausage, avocado, sliced tomato (from our garden), and Sriracha.  Holy moly, it was delicious!

After breakfast Greg and I ran errands (TJ’s and Target) and straightened up the house before Sally and Kevin came to visit.  S & K are pretty much like family to us, so we were really excited to have them for the weekend!

photo 2

photo 3

photo 4When they arrived, we chatted for a bit, then headed to Old Town Pasadena for lunch at Le Pain Quotidien.  This was our first time here, and it was amazing!  I had the Salmon Tartine with avocado.  So delicious, light, and beautiful.  Perfect for Summer!  We all also shared a Watermelon-Cucumber juice, and a Banana-Fig Muffin.  Yum!

After lunch we went to my favorite place in Pasadena, Vroman’s Bookstore.  We had coffee, and wandered for quite a bit.  Don’t you just love bookstores?  I could spend hours there (and have).

photo 5Once we were done perusing the bookstore, we went home, chatted, and got ready for the evening.  We have a friend, Randy Johnson, who is an brilliant playwright, and he wrote and directed A Night With Janis Joplin.  Not only did it come to Pasadena, but it has been all over the country, and was even on Broadway.  Exciting, huh?  Anyway, we went and saw it!  It was absolutely INCREDIBLE!  I was blown away by all of the talent, and totally got all the feels!

photo 1Sunday morning, we lounged around the house, sipped coffee, and talked some more.  Such a great, cozy morning!  After breakfast we walked around town, went into some shops, and had lunch at Real Food Daily.  This is quickly becoming my favorite restaurant in Pasadena.  Think: vegan, organic, non-GMO, and lots of allergy-friendly options.  The food is DELICIOUS!  I got a breakfast burrito, which came with tempah “bacon,” and a side of fruit.  So much yumminess….Mmm.

photo 2After lunch, we wandered some more, then said our goodbyes to S & K.  For the remainder of the day we napped, did house stuff, and I colored in my new Mid-Century Modern adult coloring book (one of my favorite past times).  Do any of you love coloring as much as I do? It’s so therapeutic.

So, what did you do this weekend?  Gimme all the deets!

xo.  Jen

WEEKEND RECAP #27

Good morning!  How was your weekend?  Was it exciting, mellow, or a mix of both?  As I mentioned on Friday, mine was jam-packed, but SUPER fun!  Greg, Kanan, and I got to spend lots of quality time together over the weekend, and it was so great!  I have lots of photos today, but I’ll also do a brief spiel, too! 🙂

photo 1

photo 2

photo 3The weekend started with us walking to get sushi on Friday night.  It was delicious, and super fresh.  Yum!  It ended with another walk, and a cuddle sesh before bed (just Charlie and I)! 🙂

photo 3Saturday morning I made cinnamon rolls.  Now, if we’re getting technical, I really wanted cinnamon rolls, but G + K LOVE them, so it was a win-win-win for everyone! 🙂

photo 4

photo 5

photoAfter breakfast, we headed downtown (LA).  We went walked through Olvera Street (where the succulent wall is), China Town, and ended up at MOCA.  I love MOCA, because not only does it have amazing contemporary art, but it houses my favorite piece of all time: Jackson Pollack’s Number 1.  This piece inspires me each I am see it.  Some may see a splattered mess, but I see beauty.

photo 2

photo 1After MOCA, we went to Homegirl Café, where I had the amazing Angela’s Green Potion (lime, mint, and spinach) and chilaquiles (my fave).  Homeboy Industries was founded by Father Gregory Boyle, and his organization’s mission is to assist former gang members, by redirecting their lives and providing jobs.  It’s a wonderful organization!  I have read Father Gregory’s book Tattoos on the Heart, and completely recommend it!

Also, if you live in southern California, you know how flippin’ hot it was this weekend (98 degrees in downtown LA), so ideally, we probably could have picked a better weekend to walk around, but oh well!  We sipped iced tea and water all day, and had fun regardless!

photo (1)Saturday evening we went to dinner, where we sat outside and listened to live music, and chatted.  So fun!  I ordered this heirloom beet salad and a glass of rosé (sorry for the blurry/dark pic).  So refreshing!

photo 1

photo 5

photo 4Sunday we went to the USC Pacific Asian Museum, which is in Pasadena.  It was our first time there, and while it isn’t huge, it is awesome!  My favorite piece was the Bodhisattva above. Beautiful!  Also, the garden area is gorgeous!  It has the sweetest koi pond that I just loved! Afterwards we had Chinese food.  Great fortune, huh?

Sunday ended with my Mom stopping by for a short visit (always love that), a trip to TJ’s, and Greg and I relaxing watching Whiplash (which I highly recommend).  While it was a really busy weekend, I feel full, relaxed, and ready to start my week!

HOW I SHOP AT TRADER JOE’S

Hi there!  A few things before we jump into this awesome post (yes, I’m patting myself on the back)…You guys LOVED yesterday’s post on 50 Uses for Coconut Oil!  Did you see it?  Thank you to all my new readers, and to my faithful ones, too!  You guys ROCK!  I also received lots of requests for health coaching consultations, and that means SO much to me!  To learn more about what I do, and how you can sign up for a free consult, click here!  🙂

tjLately I have had several requests to share about how I shop at Trader Joe’s.  Do you shop at TJ’s?  Do you have a TJ’s near you?  I am definitely a TJ’s gal, and besides picking up an item or two, haven’t gone to a different grocery store in a long time (7 years?).  This is not to say that other stores aren’t great, they just aren’t for me.  In all honesty, I get a bit of anxiety when I go somewhere else.  I do go to Whole Foods and the occasional health food store for supplements and specialty items, but that’s probably three times per year, so I don’t really count that.  I will say that while I have a huge crush on TJ’s, they did not pay me to write this post.  🙂  Now, let’s proceed…

I love TjA FEW REASONS WHY I LOVE TRADER JOE’S:

  1. They have a great FAQ’s page that has so much valuable information — both about their company, but also food in general.  I love that!
  2. Trader Joe’s branded products are sourced from non-GMO ingredients!!!
  3. Their products are not marketed, so they can keep their prices low!  I love a good deal!
  4. No artificial crap in their products.  Yay!
  5. So many allergen free options.  Gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, kosher, paleo, nut free, etc.!
  6. TJ’s carries amazing organic products!
  7. I once read that the average grocery store carries about 50,000-60,000 products, where Trader Joe’s only carries about 4,000.  Personally, I think that is amazing!  Their products are so great, that they don’t need to sell 43 different brands of one product.
  8. Their employees seems genuinely happy to work there, and are super helpful!  Love that!

photo 1Okay, now on to how I shop!  In the past I have shared about how I meal plan/prep.  Basically, I do that before I go shopping.  Greg and I almost always go together.  We enjoy it, it’s extra time we can spend together, and while I do all the cooking, it is a way he can be involved too.

tj with flowerLET’S TALK $$$

Now, everybody’s family size is different, and everyone has a different budget.  You may be a family of six, single, living with roommates, whatever.  For us, right now, it’s just the two of us. Either way, I’ve always liked having some sort of a “budget.”  We go shopping weekly, and spend about $100 (give or take).  We eat out about two meals a week (usually take-out once during the week, and a weekend meal at a restaurant).  So, for two people that is 38 meals a week (breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 19 meals x 2), plus snacks, and the occasional dessert. Basically it breaks down to less than $2.60 per meal.  I think that’s pretty darn good, especially because we almost always buy wine, flowers, and a few cards (they have the BEST cards for 99¢, too).  Whatever your situation is, I’m confident you can make it work!  If you have any questions on this, let me know!

THINGS I DON’T BUY AT TRADER JOE’S

There are only a handful of things that I do not buy at TJ’s.  They are:

  • Trash bags (they don’t carry)
  • Feminine products <—-TJ’s, you totally should start carrying these products!
  • Water (we get it from a local filtration place)
  • Shampoo & conditioner for me (I either make it myself, or buy a super natural product online)
  • Dry food for Charlie (TJ’s doesn’t have an organic option)
  • Specialty items not carried: liquid aminos, nutritional yeast, and a few other things I get from Whole Foods or online.

photo 2MY FAVES

First, 99% of what I buy is organic.  I try to only buy organic, but occasionally I don’t (it’s usually because they don’t carry an organic version).  Okay, so obviously I don’t purchase each of the items below every time I go to TJ’s.  Ha!  I do buy many of them though (lots of veggies, Greek yogurt, eggs, fruit, etc.)!  However, I did break it down into categories (yes, I’m obsessed with all things spreadsheets) so you can see my favorite items, and possibly get some new ideas. Take a peek below!

Alright, that was a long post!  Did you find it helpful?  Where do you grocery shop?  If at TJ’s, what items do you buy?  I’d love to hear your thoughts!
